Apartment Pictures

Hooray

May 30, 2008

It’s official! We got a phone call Thursday evening, and we are officially approved. We get the keys next Thursday and our move-in date is next Friday. Tonight I’m hoping they will let us in to look around one more time and take pictures. Then I can post them here.

Let the packing begin.

Moving?

May 21, 2008

After much deliberation, Tim and I have decided that the best thing for us right now is to move out of our 475 sq ft apartment and find a new nest.

We are currently looking at Woodfield Apartments in Kentwood (60th and Eastern). We toured a one bedroom loft, 917 sq ft, and were offered a really good discount. We applied and will know by next week Friday if we are approved.

The reason we chose the loft instead of the 2 bedroom (both the same price), is because the loft has more square footage and also has a cathedral ceiling. The loft just felt more open and bright. Instead of an 11×9 second bedroom, we’re getting an 11×14 loft, which will make for a fabulous living room with plenty of room for entertaining.

If you think of it, pray that our application will be accepted and that all will go smoothly. We will be moving in on Friday, June 6, so if you’d like to come and help out, we’d be very grateful.

Prince Caspian

May 17, 2008

We went to see The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian on Friday night at 11:35pm. I just want to note that this movie is incredible. The Christian parallels were even stronger to me than in the more popular The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. I think the reason it struck me the way it did is because it is so relevant for Christians today. If you’re a Christian you might understand what I mean when you see this movie (if you’re really looking for it). But I didn’t even realize there could be any allegory in the Prince Caspian story until my husband Tim pointed it out to me early on in the movie. I always thought The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe was really the only book with Christian parallels. I guess I hadn’t thought about it much since I read the books when I was younger, but it all makes pretty good sense now.

Anyway. Amazing movie, please go see it, if only for the cool CGI and action scenes.

All in a day’s work

May 15, 2008

Today was “Jeans Day” at the office. Instead of our normal, professional attire, people came to work wearing jeans, tennis shoes, and some even sweatshirts. We also had a staff picnic, ate some awesome food, and played Frisbee Golf (I discovered that Frisbee Golf is not my hidden talent). Later, we stood around eating cake as we said goodbye to a dear friend and coworker who is leaving us. There was a lot of reminiscing, laughing, and hugs.

I love my job. I love my coworkers.
